Football training tops
Training top or match shirt?
On match day, your club decides what you wear. The teams must be distinguishable from each other and from the referee, and the goalkeeper plays in a different colour from the outfield players. That is why most players buy their match shirt through the club, often with a badge and number.
For everything else, the choice is yours. This is where a training T-shirt makes sense: for midweek training, for runs in pre-season, for strength work and for a kickabout in the park. Our football training top is made for exactly that, and we do not call it anything else.
Wet weather, grass and 3G pitches
Football is played in all kinds of weather. Cotton soaks up water and gets heavy in the rain, while polyester is light and dries faster, so the shirt does not hang off you after a wet session. When it is cold, you can wear the T-shirt as a base layer with a jacket on top for the warm-up, then take the jacket off when the pace picks up.
If you train on artificial grass, rubber crumb often comes home with you in your kit. Give the shirt a good shake outside before it goes in the washing machine. Wash it inside out at a low temperature, leave out the fabric softener and hang it up to dry. The care label in the shirt always takes priority.
| Feature | Polyester | Cotton |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Light | Heavy when wet |
| Drying time | Dries quickly | Dries slowly |
| In the rain | Does not cling | Soaks up water |

A fit for running, turning and training bibs
A football T-shirt should sit close enough not to flap when you run and loose enough for you to twist your upper body when turning or crossing. Many sessions split the squad with training bibs, and an athletic fit that is not too wide slips under them more easily. Between two sizes? Use the size guide on the product, and choose the larger one if you want more room.
Shorts, socks and training jackets are on the way
Complete football training kit consists of shorts, socks, a light training jacket or a quarter-zip for cold evenings, and perhaps a full tracksuit. At Zilenzo, T-shirts are the only items you can buy so far. Our first shorts, socks and training jackets are on the way, and you can join Zilenzo Club to be notified when they are ready.
A football design developed with artificial intelligence
The design began with football itself and the atmosphere on a training pitch where everyone is giving it their all. We gave that description to artificial intelligence, which suggested many possible patterns and colours. We selected and refined the suggestions so they work on the cut and in motion. We use AI for all our designs and are happy to say so.
Frequently asked questions
What should you wear for football training?
For football training you need a light shirt that dries quickly, shorts, socks, shin pads and boots suited to the surface. Zilenzo's football training T-shirts are made of polyester and are available for men and women.
Does Zilenzo sell match shirts for football clubs?
No, we sell training T-shirts with our own designs, not club match shirts. On match day, the club decides the kit. If you would like to hear about matching training wear for your team, you are welcome to get in touch.
Can the shirt be worn in rain and cold weather?
Yes, polyester is light and dries faster than cotton, so it is well suited to training in wet and changeable weather. When it is cold, you can wear the T-shirt as a base layer under a jacket.
How do I get rubber crumb from artificial grass out of football kit?
Shake your kit out outdoors before washing it, then turn it inside out and shake it again. After that, wash the shirt inside out at a low temperature without fabric softener.
How much does shipping cost at Zilenzo, and how do I return an item?
The shipping cost and delivery time for your country are shown at checkout, and orders ship from Denmark. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If you return an item, you pay the return shipping yourself.
