Volleyball clothing
Arms overhead, knees to the floor
In volleyball you lift your arms in almost every movement: setting, blocking, attacking and serving. A volleyball shirt that is too short quickly rides up over your stomach, and a tight sleeve holds back your spike. Look for a shirt that fits properly across the shoulder and stays down when you stretch towards the net.
At the same time, you often get down low in the back court and dive for the ball. Polyester is light and dries faster than cotton, so the shirt does not get heavy during a long set. It is a good idea to bring a spare shirt to tournaments with several matches.
Indoors: the libero and team colours
In indoor volleyball, the team plays in matching match shirts, and the libero usually wears a shirt in a different colour from the rest of the team so the referee can identify them. The rules can vary between leagues and tournaments, so check with your club or federation. Our volleyball T-shirt is made for training and warming up, not as the team's match shirt.
Beach volleyball: sand, sun and wind
Beach volleyball clothing faces completely different conditions. You play on sand, often in sun and wind, and a T-shirt is nice to wear between matches and on days when the breeze off the water is cool. Sand gets everywhere, so give the shirt a thorough shake before you put it in your bag.
At home, wash the shirt inside out at a low temperature without fabric softener, then let it air dry. Always follow the care label in the product.
Arm sleeves, socks and towels are on the way
For many players, complete volleyball clothing also includes arm sleeves for the forearms, socks that sit well in indoor court shoes, and a towel on the bench. We do not have them yet. We described volleyball and the feeling of a team jumping together at the net, and let artificial intelligence come up with lots of pattern and colour ideas. Then we made the human decisions: we chose, adjusted and adapted the design so it suits the cut and a game played with arms in the air. All our designs are made this way, and we are open about it.
Frequently asked questions
What should you wear for volleyball?
For volleyball you need a light shirt that lets you move freely overhead, shorts and indoor shoes, and many players wear knee pads for digs. Zilenzo's volleyball T-shirts are made of polyester and come in XS–XXL for men and women.
Can I wear the shirt for beach volleyball?
Yes, the T-shirt is light and works as volleyball clothing both in the hall and on the beach. Remember to shake out the sand before washing the shirt.
Why does the libero wear a different shirt?
The libero has a special role in indoor volleyball, which is why the libero usually wears a shirt in a different colour from their teammates. Check the rules for your league or tournament if you are buying for the team.
Is there a difference between the men's and women's volleyball shirts?
Yes, each has its own cut and its own measurements in the size guide. Both come in XS–XXL with the same volleyball design.
