Sports tops
Four types of sports top, and when to wear them
The T-shirt is the lightest sports top and the one you will wear most often: in the sports hall, for strength training, for summer runs and as a base layer in winter. A long-sleeved top protects your arms and holds a little more warmth, so it suits cool runs and outdoor training in spring and autumn.
A quarter-zip has a short zip at the neck. You open it when you get warm and close it when you are standing still, which is why it is popular for warm-ups and outdoor training on cold days. The sweatshirt is the thickest and mostly belongs before and after training, on the way to a match or on the bench, as it quickly becomes too warm and heavy for hard sessions.
Choose a training top for the intensity and temperature
The rule of thumb is simple: the harder you work, the less you need to wear. In a warm sports hall, a T-shirt is enough, even in the middle of winter. Outdoors, it is fine to feel a little cold for the first few minutes, because your body warms up quickly once you get going. If you dress for how it feels when you are standing still, you will almost always end up overdressed.
For warm-ups and breaks, it is smart to have a zipped top or a light jacket over your T-shirt that you can take off when the match or the intervals begin.

Men's tops and women's tops
A sports top should fit your body, not just your size. At Zilenzo, the men's and women's styles each have their own cut and their own measurements in the size guide. Measure a top you like and compare the width and length before you choose. If the top will be worn under other layers, go for a fit that does not bunch up under the mid layer.
What we have today, and what is on the way
Today you can buy our short-sleeved sports tops with designs for table tennis, badminton, darts, handball, football, tennis, padel, running, basketball and volleyball. A quarter-zip training top, polo shirts and a light training jacket are on the way, but we are not promising a date. Join Zilenzo Club to be notified when they are ready.
Why our tops do not look like anyone else's
All our designs come from a collaboration between people and artificial intelligence. We give the AI a sport and a mood, get lots of sketches of patterns and colour combinations back and choose the ones that hold up, including when the top is stretched across the shoulders. The result is sports tops with a look created for your sport.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best top for training?
For most types of training, a light polyester T-shirt is the best top, because it dries quickly and gives you freedom of movement. If it is cold, put a quarter-zip or a light jacket on top instead of switching to a thick sweatshirt.
What is the difference between a sports top and an ordinary top?
A sports top is made for movement and sweat: usually in a light, quick-drying fabric with a cut that does not pull when you lift your arms. An ordinary top is often made of cotton and designed for everyday wear, when you are not sweating.
When should I choose a quarter-zip over a T-shirt?
Choose a quarter-zip when you train outdoors in cool weather or need to warm up and wait between drills. The zip lets you regulate your temperature without taking the top off. Indoors and at high intensity, a T-shirt is usually enough.
Does Zilenzo sell long-sleeved tops or quarter-zips?
Not yet. Right now we sell T-shirts, and a quarter-zip training top is on the way, while long-sleeved tops are not in the range yet either. We are not promising a date, but Zilenzo Club members will be notified as soon as there is news.
How do delivery and returns work when I buy tops from Zilenzo?
